OrthoGraft Pvt. Ltd. is a Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) certified start-up, under the Start-up India program. The company was incorporated as a private limited company in Vadodara, India, in April 2018 with the aim of becoming a homegrown, global leader in the development of tissue processing methods and tissue-based implants for regenerative clinical applications. OrthoGraft is a pioneer in the development of technology to convert waste biological tissue into biologics for regenerative applications. OrthoGraft is also the start-up partner on a prestigious Govt. of India funded, multi-institutional IMPRINT Grant involving MS Ramaiah Hospital, PGIMER Chandigarh and Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar. The goal of the project is to facilitate development of the company’s proprietary allograft processing technology whilst engaging with third-party hospitals to donate bone allograft.
The company has been nurturing robust joint development partnerships with MS Ramaiah Memorial Hospital, Bengaluru and Tata Memorial Center (TMC), Mumbai. The partnerships aim to increase supply of tissue allograft and develop tissue-based materials that can replace the use of autologous grafts in clinical practice and eliminate the dependence on imported products. To minimize investment risk and time to commercialization, in their current operating model, OrthoGraft provides processing equipment, training and scientific know-how and the tissue bank implements the work in their regulated facility. Furthermore, as part of its ongoing efforts to increase the supply and use of tissue-based implants in the country, OrthoGraft is putting major thrust on partnering with major multispecialty hospitals that can donate allograft tissue or have a latent need for processed tissue in various clinical applications.
